About the Conference
Research shows that self-regulation is one of the most important predictors of academic success. In a nutshell, self-regulation is the ability to respond appropriately to a situation and involves sensory processing, emotions, and executive functioning skills. This action-packed, strategy-rich, experiential course provides a framework for facilitating the development of this vital skill set in kids who are struggling with attention, outbursts, meltdowns, social interactions, aggression, and more. We will also cover the neurological basis of the unique self-regulation challenges faced by children and teens with ASD, ADHD, ODD, a history of trauma or neglect, and more and uncover how to immediately impact change. About the Speaker Gwen Wild, MOT, OTR/L, is an experienced Occupational Therapist specializing in the treatment of children & adolescents diagnosed with autism and sensory processing disorders.
