About the Executive Director
Lisa M. Ottman

Lisa Ottman, is the Executive Director of the New England Scholarship Pageants (NESP), which sponsors local pageants for Maine, NH and MA.  Pageants held as part of the New England Scholarship Pageants are the Miss Holly Pageant, the Miss Maine Seacoast Pageant, the Miss New Hampshire Seacoast Pageant, and the Miss Massachusetts Seacoast Pageant. She also runs a pageant for the La Kermesse Franco-Americaine Festival.  These pageants are fun pageants with portions that benefit organizations and/or individuals with a mission to help others.  NESP offers support to the titleholders if they want to go on to higher levels of competition in the pageant industry such as state or national pageants.  NESP pageants do not require a non-compete contract and offer ladies the opportunity to improve their skills, practice interview and on stage skills.  They are able to receive  comments from judges regarding their performance.  Optional competitions are offered at the pageants with awards.

Lisa was the Executive Director for the Miss MA, NH, and CT Jr. High, HS, and Collegiate America Program from 2012-2014.  From 2014-2018 Lisa was a director for NH and MA while with the USA National Miss Scholarship Pageant program.   Prior to these systems, Lisa volunteered for the Miss Maine America Pageant system in a number of ways.

Lisa has participated in volunteering and fundraising for a number of organizations for over 43 years.  She has volunteered for the past 18 years with  pageant systems, been trained by international professionals, mentored Miss Maine 2009, Susie Stauble Pepper and other contestants, including her own daughter, Janet Ottman, that was 1st Runner-Up in the 2012 Miss Maine America Pageant.

Lisa coaches and runs Pageant Prep/Training days for younger and older girls and boys.  She also works with parents of babies to help them learn how to participate in the pageants they select for their children. She is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist by profession with 35 years of experience.  She is able to use this background to help her guide others to bring out their self-confidence, communication and social skills, and physical posture/walking abilities as related to muscle tone, center of gravity, and other related neuro-muscular abilities people do not realize affect their walking skills.  She specializes in sensory processing abilities, which relate to utilizing techniques and approaches to dealing with effects of anxiety, shyness, processing of information including environmental, which may affect one's ability to communicate in an interview, on stage, or within the community.

Lisa supports many causes and organizations.  The titleholders may have their own platforms that they want to promote.  Fundraisers to help
support scholarships and awards for the contestants and titleholders of these pageants, programs, and organizations may occur throughout the year.  We have supported organizations such as Coats and Toys for Kids, Homeless groups, The Crown C.A.R.E.S., Toys for Tots, and more.

Lisa enjoys fostering the development of skills in young women to not only grow personally but to also gain professional skills and support them as they give back to others through community service.  She has been married for 33 years and has 3 grown children; 2 boys and 1 girl.  She has received a Lifetime Achievement Presidential Service Award in 2017 and a Gold Presidential Service Award in 2018 with over 8,500 hours of volunteering since 2015.  Lisa strives to lead by example and encourages others to do so as well.
